Apprenticeship costs
Like all good things, apprenticeships and training costs money. However industry training is significantly cheaper than the fees charged by most tertiary institutions. And an added bonus is that you will be able to earn a wage while you you are learning!
Apprenticeships and Industry training programmes with the NZHITO currently cost $650 (including GST) per year.
For this you will get:

Provided with training and assessment guides to support your learning process.

A minimum of four visits a year from you local NZHITO Training Advisor

The support and advice of your NZHITO Training Advisor

Administrative support from the NZHITO

Your complete credits registered with NZQA

Access to a registered NZHITO workplace assessor

Issue and framing of completed National Certificates

Access to between 10 – 15 days of off-job training a year

The use of the NZHITO 0800 number

Representation for your industry on the NZHITO board of directors.
The training fee is payable by either you or your employer – dependent upon the arrangement you and your employer have reached.
