Up one levelAt various times the NZHITO will be carrying out work on the different domains within the horticulture subfield, when we are doing so you will be able to find details of our current reviews in this section. The review process includes; the development of new unit standards, reviewing and updating existing unit standards and expiring older out of date unit standards. At certain stages within this process we will be seeking industry feedback and we will post information in this area when it comes to hand.
Draft Qualifications
The NZHITO have put together drafts for a National Certificate in Horticulture (Practical) (Level 1) and a National Certificate in Horticulture (Level 3) with an optional strand in Cemetery.
Arboriculture Review
A review of the Arboriculture domain has been taking place over the last 18 months, the unit standards and qualifications are being reviewed as part of this process. At this time we are seeking feedback on the proposed changes to the unit standards.
Vegetable Production
We are currently in the process of reviewing the vegetable production unit standards and qualification.
Floristry Unit Standards
The NZHITO is currently in the process of developing four brand new unit standards at level 1 & 2 for Floristry. The intention of these unit standards is that they will be used by schools.
